  • Next, we will turn on the gas and place a cooker on the stove.
  • Then, we will add the washed rice to the cooker, along with the appropriate amount of water, and close the lid.
  • For low-flame cooking, let it cook for 3 whistles; for high-flame, cook for 2 whistles.
  • Finally, serve the rice hot with rajma.

2. Rajma (kidney beans)-

I understand how delicious Rajma is and how frustrating it can be to make it sometimes. But don’t worry; I’m here to help! Today, I’ll guide you on how to prepare rajma in just one pot, making it so much easier for you. Even if you’re feeling a bit stressed while cooking, I promise the flavour will still be fantastic. You’ll enjoy it so much that you’ll want to make it over and over again!

½ tablespoon turmeric powder (Haldi)

½ tablespoon garam masala

Salt as per taste

Water as per need of gravy

Instruction-

  • First, we will chop the onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, and green chilli into small pieces.
  • Next, we will place a pressure cooker on the gas stove and add oil to it.
  • Once the oil is heated, we’ll add spices such as cloves, cardamom, bay leaves, cumin, and cinnamon.
  • After frying these spices well, we will add the chopped ginger, garlic, green chillies, onion, and tomato, cooking them until softened.
  • Now, we will mix in some additional spices: red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric, and salt. (According to the measurements provided above)

  • Once the pressure cooker cools down, we will open it and serve the dish garnished with fresh coriander leaves alongside hot rice.

3. Papad-

Papad holds a special place in the hearts of many Indians, adding a delightful touch to our meals that brings us together. Pairing it with a warm bowl of rajma chawal can create a sense of joy and comfort that’s hard to match.

With so many types of papads available, each one boasts its own unique shapes and colours, inviting us to explore. Whether you love the satisfying crunch of fried papad or prefer the wholesome goodness of roasted papad, there truly is something for everyone. Each variety offers a distinct flavour, allowing you to find the one that resonates with your taste buds. Let’s take a moment to appreciate the wonderful diversity of flavours that papad brings into our lives!

4. Aachar-

There’s something really special about the bond many Indians have with Achar, and it often starts right at home! In most households, you’ll find some kind of achar at every meal—whether it’s zesty mango achar or a tasty mixed variety.

This beloved condiment, whether it’s lovingly made in the kitchen or grabbed from the store, really adds a warm touch and a burst of flavour to all our dishes. Isn’t it amazing how a little achar can turn a simple bowl of rice into something so comforting? So why not take a moment to pick your favourite achar and enjoy it with your rice? It’s these little traditions that fill our dining experiences with so much joy!

TIP: I suggest we start by washing the rice carefully—it’s a small step, but it truly makes a big difference in the final dish. While the rice is cooking, we can take our time chopping the vegetables together. Once the rice is ready, we’ll move on to preparing the Rajma, which I know you’ll enjoy. Lastly, after we fry the papad, we can create a beautiful thali to serve, complete with rice, Rajma, papad, aachar, and salad. It’s all about enjoying the process together!
